2009 Jeux du Canada Games

The 2009 Jeux du Canada Games to be held in Prince Edward Island.

There is a position open for a female coach who has, or will be fully certified at Level 3 prior to June 1st 2009 to complete the staff quota for the games.

ANB has posted job descriptions and application forms here. All qualified coaches are encouraged to apply. Coaching experience with Special Olympic and Wheel Chair athletes  would be an asset.

If you have already submitted an application and want this to be considered by the selection committee please advise  the Technical Director at anb@nbnet.nb.ca.


Oct 18 2008 - NB Middle Schools Cross Country Champi

NB Middle Schools Cross Country Championships   The 3rd annual NB Middle School XC Championships were held at River Valley Middle School on Saturday, October 18, 2008. 190 youth representing schools from across New Brunswick competed in races for girls and boys in grades 6, 7 and 8. Over All Provincial Championships were awarded to schools for their top 6 placing across all three grade divisions in boys and girls.   Harry Miller Middle School won the Boys Overall Championship  George St. Middle School was the Girls Overall Champion.   Schools & runners also competed for individual and team honors in each grade division. NBIAA Provincial X-Country Championship

Individual results, as well as team scores have been posted in the ANB Results section for each of the Junior Girls, Junior Boys, Senior Girls and Senior Boys NBIAA Cross Country races. Scroll to the bottom of each results page to see the team scores which are listed at the bottom of the results for each respective race.

The Daily Gleaner published an article on this year's NBIAA X-Country Championship meet to lead of Friday's Sport Section.


Oct 15 2008 - Commonwealth Youth Games Jessica Par

Commonwealth Youth Games

Jessica Parry of London, ON won silver in the women’s 1500-metres at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games currently taking place in Pune, India. Jessica, the Canadian Flag Bearer at the Opening Ceremonies of these Games, finished in 4:20.59 just behind gold medalist Stacy Ndiwa of Kenya who crossed the line in 4:20.16. Ciara Mageean of Ireland took the bronze in 4:22.53. Geneviève Lalonde from Moncton, NB placed 6th in the race recording a time of 4:26.38. The multi-sport Commonwealth Youth Games started October 12th.

The 8th Annual Gagetown Indoor meet has been changed  to Saturday November 22nd.
Full details on the meet will be available on the web site by October 20th.


Oct 6 2008 - Atlantic Open XC Championships & Cha

Atlantic Open XC Championships & Championnats SUA / AUS Championships

Athletes, coaches and cross country enthusiasts are encouraged to come take part in the 2008 Atlantic Cross Country Championships. This year’s meet will be a unique and exciting event as it will be held in conjunction with the AUS XC Championships featuring the best university runners in Atlantic Canada. Come to race as well as cheer on the top harriers in Atlantic Canada. The UdeM course will provide a classic cross country experience for all ages!

We are happy to announce that the Atlantic Open XC Championships will be held in conjunction with the Championnats SUA / AUS Championships in Moncton, NB, October 25th.

Special prizes will be awarded to the top 3 individuals in each race and the top team in each event!
