Dec 27 2017 - Return of the RJTW Indoor Series

Athletics New Brunswick is proud to announce the return of the Run Jump Throw Wheel Indoor Series. Last season was the inaugural event for the indoor version of the series and was very popular with over 100 young athletes coming out to compete. It is our hope to continue to build on the success of last season and keep more young athletes involved in the sport over the course of the winter.

The Series will once again consist of several regional RJTW competitions, which are open to all athletes ages 8-13, with the top 8 finishers in each event qualifying to compete in the RJTW Atlantic Championships. The Championship meet has been moved this year to the UdeM campus in Moncton this year on Sunday, March 11, to coincide with the Atlantic Indoor Championships. The Atlantic Championships will serve as the culmination event of the series.

Athletes are also able to qualify through any school meets/challenges or any other meet hosted by a community group/organization. For interested parties, anyone is capable of hosting a Regional Meet and we encourage schools, recreation organizations and other groups to host a meet/challenge themselves to prepare their athletes for Atlantics. ANB will provide support in the form of an easy guide on running a meet, along with ribbons and qualifying tickets!

The offered events will be as follows:

Ages 8-9 (born in 2009/2010): 60m, 150m, 300m, Long Jump, Shot Put (2kg), Vertical Jump Ages 10-11 (born in 2007/2008): 60m, 150m, 600m, Long Jump, Shot Put (2kg), Vertical Jump Ages 12-13 (born in 2005/2006): 60m, 150m, 800m, Long Jump, Shot Put (3kg), Vertical Jump

Athletes can compete in up to three events, but NO MORE than two track events OR field events (i.e. 2 track and 1 field or 1 track and 2 field).

Spikes of any kind are not permitted for RJTW competitions.

Athletes taking part in the Atlantic Championships will receive a T-Shirt.
