LeBlanc Qualifies for NCAA Championship
Michael LeBlanc won his 100m preliminary heat in the lightning fast time of 10.26 +2.3 to qualify for the 100m NCAA Eastern Regional final. In the final, Mike set a new NB provincial senior men's 100m record by running 10.36 +0.1 and qualifying for the NCAA Championship in the process. Complete results for the meet are available.

With Outdoor Track season beginning it's time to renew your ANB Membership, if you haven't already. ANB members receive lower entry fees for meets, inclusion in the ANB Rankings, are eligible for New Brunswick Records and eligible to tryout for the NB Legion Team and NB Espoir Team.
Currently, the Saint John Track Club has an amazing 110 members, followed by SouthEast Athletics with 27, Fast Tracks - 18, Motley Crew - 16, Fredericton Legion Track - 14, Club Elite - 9, Miramichi Giants Athletics - 6, Charlotte County Track - 5 and Chaleur Athletics - 4.

2007 NB Legion Program
An updated version of the 2007 NB Legion Program Policies and Procedures has been posted. The new version adds a top 5 finish at either the NBIAA Provincial Championship or the NB Middle School Championship as qualification criteria for the Legion Provincial Championship.
The 2007 NB Legion Program Policies and Procedures which includes the selection criteria and the 2007 NB Legion Standards have been posted in the Legion Program section.

Loucks Games Results
Lydia Frost and Barry Britt competed at the Loucks Games, an invitational high school meet in White Plains, New York, this past weekend. Lydia competed in the girls 800m finishing in 11th place overall with a time of 2:18.43 and the girls 400m finishing in 16th place with a time of 59.52. Barry finished 3rd in the 3200m race with a time of 9:19.26 (low 8:40 range for 3000m) and 6th in the 1600m with a time of 4:20.46. May 6 2007 - NCAA Conference Championships
NCAA Conference Championships
Three ANB athletes competed in NCAA Conference Championships this weekend. Competing in the Big East Conference, Michael Leblanc started the weekend by equaling his personal record of 10.40s in the 100m preliminaries, and establishing a new personal record of 21.48s in the 200m preliminaries. Both performances qualified him for Sunday's finals.
In Sunday's 100m final Mike ran 10.40s for the 3rd time in a row to win the 100m Big East Conference Championship. Then, only 45 minutes later Mike ran the 200m event finishing 4th in the New Brunswick Record time of 21.14s. Both performances qualify Mike for the NCAA Regional Championship to be held on May 25-26. Full results for the Big East meet are available here.
In the America East Conference, Allyson Howatt finished 4th in the 100m event with a season best performance of 12.20s while teammate Jessica Belliveau finished 6th in the 800m event with a season best time of 2:15.28. America East results are available here.

Athletics Canada Announces Two Atlantic Region Coaching Positions
Athletics Canada and the Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic are pleased to announce that Steve Leblanc from Edmonton, AB has been hired to fill the newly created position of Atlantic Region Head Coach. Also Joël Bourgeois of Moncton, NB has accepted a high performance part-time coaching position for the Atlantic region, based in Moncton.
