Jun 12 2018 - 2 New Brunswick Athlete set for the 2018 Desert Challenge Games.
Athletics New Brunswick athletes James Brace of Intervale and Jacob Leblanc of Moncton head to Arizona this week to participate in the 2018 Desert Challenge Games. These games are held in conjunction with the only North American World Para Athletics Grand Prix event which will run Friday and Saturday at the Arizona State University Joe Selleh Track.
James is currently ranked 1st in Canada in the F56 class in both the Javelin and Discus events and ranked 2nd in the Shot Put. Jacob brings speed to the team in the T54 class, having ranked top 10 in Canada last year in all his events including the 100m (8), 200m (5), 400m (6) and 1500m (7) respectively.
“We’re sending a small, but very talented team of athletes to Arizona. Many of the world’s best para athletes will be in attendance and both James and Jacob can compete against the best. We’re excited to see many personal bests from both James and Jacob and we wish them all the best!” says Executive Director of ANB Gabriel Leblanc.
