Oct 9 2019 - Weekend Recap- Capital City Classic & Youth XC Atlantics
This past weekend ANB was busy travelling this beautiful province for a few different events! Saturday was the Capital City Classic and Youth Cross Country Atlantic Championships at Odell Park in Fredericton, which saw over 150 athletes as young as 3 years old competing on the beautiful course. The next big cross country races will be the NBIAA Regionals this weekend. On Sunday, we headed to Miramichi to help out with the first 2020 NAIG Tryouts.
Top 3 in each category:
U6 Female 500m:
Sophie Cormier of the New Maryland Speeding Cheetahs completed the U6 500m race in 3:43.
Danielle Thomas of Fredericton Fast Tracks completed the race in 4:01.
Ursula Dombrowski of the New Maryland Speeding Cheetahs finished in 5:06.
U6 Male 500m:
Chase Edmonson of the New Maryland Speeding Cheetahs finished his 500m in 3:42.
Lawson Mackay of the New Maryland Speeding Cheetahs crossed the line shortly behind in 3:43.
Jasper Cress of the New Maryland Speeding Cheetahs finished in 3:54.
U8 Female 1km:
Annaliese Dombrowski of the New Maryland Speeding Cheetahs ran to a 6:32 finish.
Scarlett Cress of the New Maryland Speeding Cheetahs finished the 1km course in 7:00.
U8 Male 1km:
Noah Mazerolle of Mgr Marcel-Francois-Richard finished his 1km race in a speedy 5:07.
Jase Johnson of Chief Harold Sappier Memorial Elementary Cihpolakons ran to a 5:21.
Nico Couture of the New Maryland Speeding Cheetahs completed the race in 5:24.
U10 Female 1km:
Taylor-Lynne Brun of Anna Malenfant finished the 1km race in 4:49.
Mia Armstrong of Garden Creek School ran to a close second in 4:50.
Jeanne Filion-Landry of Ecole Champlain ran to third in a time of 5:09.
U10 Male 1km:
Jacob Flogeras of the New Maryland Speeding Cheetahs finished first in a time of 4:33.
Noah Frizzell of Park Street Elementary School ran a close second with 4:34.
William Robinson of St. George Elementary finished his race in third with a time of 4:45.
U12 Female 2km:
Abby Manson of Saint John Track & Field Club ran to a fast 8:41 on the 2km course.
Mira Flanagan of Carrefour de l’Acadie ran to a 8:54 finish.
Raya Urquhart of Fredericton Fast Tracks finished in third in a time of 9:13.
U12 Male 2km:
Samuel Lepage of Places-des-Jeunes finished the 2km course in a fast 8:34.
Michael Emberly of St. Stephen Elementary ran to second in 9:11.
Thomas Vanwart of Fredericton Legion Track Club finished third in a time of 9:25.
U14 Female 2km:
Felicia Mortimer of Saint John Track & Field Club finished the 2km course in 8:27.
Anna Somers of St. Stephen Middle School ran to a time of 8:43.
Tori Allen of Fredericton Fast Tracks finished in 8:43.
U14 Male 2km:
Tristan Lepage of Places-des-Jeunes ran his 2km race in 7:37.
Caden Wolverton of Fredericton Fast Tracks finished second in 7:43.
Jacob Chiasson of Places-des-Jeunes ran to third place in a time of 8:07.
Open/HS Women’s 4km:
Erin Vringer of Saint John High School ran to first in a time of 15:23.
Madeleine McLeod of École Sainte-Anne finished second in 16:25.
Danielle Keefe of Fredericton High School ran to third in 16:33.
Open/HS Men’s 4km:
Ben Perrett of the UNB Reds ran to first in the 4km course in 14:11.
Cameron Harris of Kenebecassis Valley rant to second in 14:34.
Micah Landry of Saint John Track & Field Club ran across the finish line in 14:36.
