Dec 30 2019 - Looking Really Good!

On behalf of the ANB Board, I wish to extend our very best wishes to all ANB members over this holiday season. 2019 was another year of remarkable athletic performances and this, at all levels (Youth to Masters, Regional to International) making us all look keenly forward to the year ahead.

Thank you everyone for your generous contributions to our sport and to ANB’s ongoing success. Much of this is possible through the dedicated work by our talented staff in Stephanie, Julia, Steve and Chris, the support offered by our ANB coaches, officials, administrators and volunteers, and opportunities offered through our ANB member clubs.  I certainly do wish to extend my personal gratitude to the ANB Board and committee members for their most significant work in advancing our organization; Merci énormément! Equally we are most grateful to our main funding partners who in 2019 included, the Sport Branch of the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture at the Province of New Brunswick, Athletics Canada, the Canadian Sport Center Atlantic, the University of New Brunswick, l’Université de Moncton, Canadian Tires’ Jump Start Foundation, Subway, and Hall of Fame launch title sponsor Dr. Brown & Associates.

Major 2019 realizations include the opening of the State of the Art $27 million Irving Oil Field House in Saint John, the launch of our ANB Hall of Fame with our seven initial inductees,  Bill MacMackin hosting the Athletics Canada SAGM in New Brunswick and a most successful integration of Stéphanie Doiron stepping into the Executive Director position, and through her hard work and due diligence making it all so seamless.

2020 will undoubtably see many new exploits by our athletes, our hosting of National Indoor Championships at the New Irving Oil Field House, numerous regional competitions including the Atlantic Championships, and at September 12-13th in partnership with RunNB and the Greater Moncton Running Club, the Medavie Blue Cross 5km national road Championship to be held  in Moncton alongside the half and full Resurgo Marathon. To those vying to compete at the highest level, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics, we extend our very wishes in your quests; We applaud your dedication, leadership and achievements.

To everyone, allow me to extend our very best wishes of good health, athletic smart, fluidity and excellence over the coming new year.

Marc Lalonde, ANB President & Board Chair.
