As the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Trials get underway, let us recognize the New Brunswickers who will be taking part in hopes of representing Canada this summer.

Geneviève Lalonde (Right) will be taking aim at the 3000m steeplechase, in hopes of qualifying for her second Olympic Games.  Her greatest success to date is winning the gold for Canada at the 2019 Pan American Games in the 3000m steeplechase.

Ryan Evans (Left) will be taking on the Men’s decathlon, in hopes of making his first ever Olympic Games. His greatest success to date is a fourth-place finish at the 2020 U Sports Track & Field Championships.

Lastly, competing for Royal City Athletics Club is Craig Thorne.  Thorne, originally from Quispamsis will be taking on the likes of Damian Warner in the Men’s 110m Hurdles.

Good luck to you three and know the whole province will be cheering you on the entire way!
