Duncan McGeachy of St. Stephen has been an administrator, official, technician, coach, educator, and fund-raiser for school and community athletics for more then 40 years. He coached basketball, track and field, cross country and soccer, including more than 20 provincial basketball championships at St. Stephen High School. He also guided some of the province’s best-known track and field athletes. The committee he chaired implemented his proposal to reorganize high school sports conferences, forming the prototype for the structure in place today. A tireless promoter of athletes and athletics, he has received numerous awards and recognition, including Queen’s Medals and Merit Awards, to an athletic facility being named in his honor.
