The leaves are changing, the air is crisp, and that can only mean one thing — cross country season is here! October marks one of the most exciting times of the year for our athletes, coaches, and clubs as we head into full competition mode across the province. From local meets to provincial championships, there’s plenty to look forward to this fall.

 

In this issue, we’ll highlight upcoming events and key updates from across the Athletics NB community. Let’s get ready for an action-packed season on the trails!

Renew your membership or register for the upcoming year to stay connected and eligible for all ANB events, programs, and rankings.

The cross country season is in full swing, with zone meets, regionals, and more across the province. Here are some key October events — make sure you check the full calendar for details and updates!

  • October 2 – Elementary School XC – CICS Meet (Campobello) – Roosevelt International Park, Campobello

  • October 7 – AESD XC Invitational (Grades 3–5) – Centennial Park, Moncton (Zone #3 – ASD-E)

  • October 8 – SJTC High School Last Chance XC Meet – Wolastoq Park, Saint John

  • October 8 – AESD XC Invitational (Grades 6–8) – Centennial Park, Moncton (Zone #3 – ASD-E)

  • October 8 – SJTC Invitational Elementary & Middle School XC Meet – Wolastoq Park, Saint John (Zone #4 – ASD-S)

  • October 17 – School Sports NB North East Regionals – Centennial Park, Moncton

  • October 17 – School Sports NB South West Regionals – Odell Park, Fredericton

  • October 18 – Course Cross Country – PETL – Grand Barachois

  • October 19 – Aetos Throws Finale – Medavie Stadium, Moncton

Annual General Meeting

 

Athletics New Brunswick’s Annual General Meeting will take place in Saint John on November 22, following the Red & Black Meet

 

All members are encouraged to attend as we review the past year, discuss upcoming initiatives, and look ahead to the 2026 season. Details regarding location, time, and agenda will be shared closer to the date.

Call for Nominations - Athlete Representative

 

 

Athletics New Brunswick is seeking nominations for the position of Athlete Representative on the ANB Board of Directors. This is a valuable opportunity to represent athlete voices at the board level and play a key role in shaping the future of our sport in New Brunswick.

 

Eligibility

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must be an ANB athlete member

  • Must have competed at a National or International competition within the past 4 years

 

Nomination & Voting Process

  • Eligible athletes may put their own name forward, or have their name put forward by another member

  • ANB will coordinate the nomination and voting process

  • Voting will take place prior to the ANB SAGM

     

Term

  • The elected Athlete Representative will serve a two-year term

  • If no nominee is put forward before the SAGM, voting members at the SAGM may select and elect a qualified athlete for a one-year term
